about

Lunatic Fringe was a hard rock band from Hollywood CA. The band was active from 1988-1996, playing all the famous clubs on the Sunset Strip and engaging in the carefree “activities” of that era. Key elements of their sound included the powerful and seductive vocals of Pete “Zar” Salazar along with the aggressive yet melodic guitar playing of Curtis “Alan” Fornadley. The LF rhythmic section evolved over the years, with Johnny Fasig handling bass duties in the early years and the “eternally cool” Swampy handling the low end on the latter half. Founding member and drummer Steve Ordyke left the band in 1992 and was replaced by Perry Cunningham.
In 1989 Lunatic Fringe was featured on the Metal Blade Records compilation album “Street Survivors” along with nine other up-and-coming L.A. bands. In 1994 Lunatic Fringe released their own self-titled CD.
